Josh's 12th birthday!!

More from Camp

A few more from camp. Here are the outside of our cabins which were actually pretty comfortable. Kara getting ready to do the zip-line and on it. (She even convinced me to do it, but unfortunately I have no photographic evidence. It was fun, though I was also a bit nervous to do it.
Besides all of the entertaining activities, they had all kinds of classes on earth science, orienteering, and animals. It was really enjoyable for me to get to spend some quality time with Kara and her cute friends! It was also great to get to interact with some of the wonderful parents and educators in our community. I came home really appreciative of the goodness of the community in which we live.
The guy with the snake is one of the counselors who is trying to decide whether or not to go back and finish medical school, or to make a career change and become a coach, teacher, counselor like he feels he has a real passion for. After his first year of medical school, he had to take a leave of absence when they found out he had a cancerous tumor. He recently finished the operation to remove the tumor and the radiation therapy and now has to make some tough decisions about what he really wants to be and do with his life. A great young man with a real gift with the kids.

Fifth Grade Camp!

I had such a fun opportunity to go to 5th grade camp with Kara last week. We got to go to a beautiful facility in East Texas and we were so pleased with the counselors and the programs offered for the kids. Even the food was yummy. This first photo is Kara with one of her friends getting ready to canoe. The second picture shows how the parents and teachers greeted the kids as they came in to eat in the cafeteria. They played fun music and we all stood on our chairs and cheered them on as they came in. I was very impressed at how the counselors made time to learn all of the kid's names and to try and really help them feel important. The third photo is our cabin "family" at dinner. The other chaperone was actually a lady from my ward so that was really fun! Fourth picture is canoeing on the picturesque lake.

Our office

Brandon is an orthodontist with his own practice here in Frisco, TX. We have been open now since the middle of April and things are going well. We are growing even though it is definitely a process, and we are learning tons! Here is one of the pictures of the office that the contractor took for their website. And here is a link to our website: pricefamilyortho.com

Other cute kids from our smores night

Everyone should have a three year old

Zach is so fun right now. Three year olds are just excited about life and that excitement is pretty contagious. He also makes us laugh from the funny things he says and does to his mad "lama" faces (If you haven't read "Lama, Lama, Mad at Momma" check it out - cute book and Zach looks just like that lama sometimes. One of the latest humorous incidences happened when he called marshmallows - "messmallows" on a night we made smores together as a family. He also takes everything literally. For example, after asking me what he could help set on the table and him turning all of those things down, I told him he better just jump in the lake then and he responded by looking around first and then vehemently stating, "Mom, there is no lake here!" Also pictured here are the glasses he made in Sunbeams on the day they did a lesson about eyes. I also love that when Lauren wakes up in the morning he comes in and says "cock-a-doodle-doo," Lauren. And she replies, "doodledoo."

Father's Day

We had fun big-dealing Brandon on Father' s Day. We are so very grateful for him and all he does to bless our lives. He is a wonderful father and husband! He got breakfast in bed complete with a smoothie the girls made for him, and a new recipe I tried for omelets (he loves it when I try new recipes). Lauren was sure she needed to share her Daddy's breakfast so she was bouncing around while he was trying to eat. She sure does love her Daddy!

Haircuts

Kara and Lindsey are such close sisters. They love to be together almost always and often try to dress the same or do their hair the same way so we weren't surprised when we went to get their hair cut at the beginning of the summer and they both got the same really cute short cut. They are enjoying it even if it does take longer to do some days.

Lindsey's Kindergarten Program

Josh was taking pictures of this event and then we ran out of batteries. But you can get the idea of the darling hat that Brandon made for Lindsey for her program. It was a really cute musical program and we have been hearing the songs ever since. Both of our older girls really love to sing.

Easter 2011

Here are a few of our Easter pictures. Hopefully there will be more to follow. Hope you all had a wonderful day!

Office Update - Approx. one week ago

Here are more pictures of the office. Our Certificate of Occupancy inspection is today and if all goes well, we see our first patient on Friday! What an incredibly huge project, but neat to see it coming together.

Office Progress - April 17, 2011

Here are some shots of the office a little over two weeks ago. Now it is almost done. I will try and put some more photos on this week. I am absolutely amazed at how long it actually takes to complete a project like this and how many details and decisions are involved. What an adventure! It is looking great!

Pictures of the office under construction

Here are a few shots with Kara as "Vanna" showing the construction of the office at the beginning of January. We are much farther along now and I need to go and get more pictures.

Lindsey lost her first tooth!

Lindsey lost her first tooth in January and these pictures accurately portray how she felt about it. Her dad worked on getting the tooth ready, but it was Josh and Kara who actually did the final yanking once they were all supposed to be in bed. Maybe we will have two more dentists in the family.
