Can't get enough
Zach (and all of us) just can't get enough of this squeezy, sweet baby! Lauren is really fun right now with all of her rolling and laughing. These pictures are first thing in the morning. Every day when I get Lauren out of bed, Zach is so excited to see her and always wants to give her a kiss and hold her if I will let him. She smiles when she sees him too. I hope this fun friendship will keep going as they get bigger.
FOOTBALL
Josh is playing tackle football this year and Brandon is one of the assistant coaches. If you haven't heard, football is taken very seriously in Texas and so they have had four, two hour practices every week in preparation for the first game which they played this weekend. Their team lost, but they are a brand new team this year and were playing the best team in the league and the score was 33 to 24. They played really well, had a good time, and Josh didn't get hurt so we were excited! The fun thing is that they have the games on the highschool field and they have the announcer and the music and everything.
Daddy Daughter Dance
Kara and Brandon had a great time at the Stake Daddy Daughter Dance. They went with another Dad and his two girl who are Kara's friends. First they had a yummy dinner at the California Pizza Kitchen, then they went to the dance at the Stake Center. Brandon said they did a great job at making the cultural hall look really classy with a tent, lights, and a chocolate fountain. Kara's favorite things about this evening were getting to get all dressed up, flowers from Dad, going out to eat, and most importantly - getting Dad all to herself all evening long. Hopefully this will make up for all of the times when she felt gipped because she didn't get to go on the Father and Son's Campouts.
First days of school
Here are the kids on their first days of school. So far they are all really enjoying their teachers and seem to be making some new friends. Josh is lucky enough to have 4 kids from our ward in his class. Kara has a really fun and vivacious teacher, and Lindsey is thriving being able to go to school with the big kids. She was more than ready and seems to be loving every minute of it. My sister-in-law, Rachelle, always takes a picture of the kids new school shoes as well and I thought that was a cute idea.
In the picture of the three oldest together, Josh has a funny look on his face because he is trying to make sure that he doesn't know the people walking down the street to school and watching us take these pictures (how embarassing!). Oops, maybe next year we we take them inside.
The one of Zach is on his first day of preschool. He was very nervous to go that first day, but since then has really looked forward to it.
Zach's 3rd Birthday!!
Of course Zach requested a Diego party this year and we were happy to comply. We had a stick the star on Diego game, chocolate Diego cake, lots of Diego related gifts, and a family dance at the end of his party (for those of you who don't know - Zach loves to move to the music). I think he had a great time and so did we celebrating this wonderful little boy. He just learned to go on the potty (hurray!!) and is so enjoying his new preschool class with his friends. He is such a blessing to our family!
In the picture with the great excited face, Zach is pulling out a Diego backpack for his preschool class. Also it was so cute that the first thing he wanted to do when he finished opening his presents was to read his new Diego books.
A fun outing
We had a great time going to a baseball game as a family this summer. Our real estate agent gave us free tickets when we finally sealed the deal and signed our lease. Despite the heat, it was one of the most entertaining games we have ever been to because of the all of the fun activities that went on during breaks in the game. We also got lots of free food and drinks (which the kids loved) and saw great fireworks after the game was over.
